Born on a Blue Day

I just came across an extraordinary video clip that I had to post here. It's an interview by Diane Sawyer of Daniel Tammet, a high-functioning man with autism, and the author of the book Born on a Blue Day: Inside the Extraordinary Mind of an Autistic Savantin which he details the workings of his mind. Apparently, he's able to explain how his thought-processes work in such detail that researchers are considering this a major breakthrough. In addition to his savant skills, synesthesia is part of the mix (a phenomenon that McLuhan was especially interested in). But let me just set up the video for you, and you can see for yourself, and listen to this especially eloquent individual talk about how his mind works:

And thanks to AutisticLiving.com for bringing this video to my attention.
